Auxiliary Coast Guard
The Auxiliary Coast Guard, often referred to simply as the Coast Guard Auxiliary, is a volunteer branch of the U.S. Coast Guard. It supports the Coast Guard in various missions, including search and rescue operations, maritime safety, and environmental protection. Members of the Auxiliary are not regular Coast Guard personnel but are trained volunteers who assist in community education, boating safety, and sometimes even on the water in their own boats. This organization enhances maritime security and safety while fostering public awareness of boating regulations and practices.
