Autograft
An autograft is a medical procedure where tissue is taken from one part of a person's body and transplanted to another area of the same person. This can be used to repair injuries, reconstruct tissue after surgery, or improve the function of a damaged area. Because the graft comes from the patient's own body, there is a lower risk of rejection compared to using tissue from a donor. Common examples include skin grafts for burns or bone grafts for orthopedic surgeries. Autografts are considered effective because they promote healing and minimize complications.
