Auckland Regional Council
The Auckland Regional Council (ARC) was a local governmental body in New Zealand responsible for managing the Auckland region’s environmental, planning, and transport matters. Established in 1989, the council focused on sustainable development, land use, and protecting natural resources, such as water and parks. In 2010, the councils in the Auckland region, including the ARC, were merged into a single entity called the Auckland Council to streamline governance and improve service delivery. The Auckland Council continues to address regional challenges, promote community well-being, and enhance the city’s infrastructure.
