atypical glands

Atypical glands refer to glandular cells that show unusual features compared to normal glands. These cells may appear irregular in shape, size, or organization, and sometimes display abnormal activity. While they are not outright cancerous, their appearance can suggest increased or altered cell behavior, which may warrant further investigation to determine if they are benign changes, precancerous conditions, or early signs of cancer development. In essence, atypical glands are cells that look different enough from normal to raise concern but do not automatically indicate cancer.
