Attention Residue
Attention residue refers to the lingering focus on a previous task that remains when you switch to a new task. This residual attention can distract you, making it harder to concentrate fully on the fresh task and potentially reducing your efficiency and effectiveness. It’s similar to having small fragments of focus from before still present, which can interfere with being fully present and attentive to what you're doing now. Managing attention residue often involves minimizing task-switching or allowing time to fully disengage before moving on.
