Astroinformatics

Astroinformatics is an interdisciplinary field that combines astronomy, computer science, and information technology to analyze and interpret large amounts of space data. As telescopes and space missions generate vast datasets, astroinformatics develops tools and methods—such as databases, algorithms, and data mining techniques—to efficiently process, organize, and extract meaningful insights about the universe. It enables astronomers to discover patterns, track cosmic phenomena, and advance our understanding of everything from planets and stars to galaxies and cosmology, making sense of the complex, data-driven universe.
