Astrobiology in relation to Venus
Astrobiology is the study of life's potential beyond Earth. Regarding Venus, astrobiologists explore whether its extreme conditions—high temperatures, crushing pressure, and toxic atmosphere—could ever support life, or if past conditions might have been more welcoming. While current Venus environments seem inhospitable, scientists examine whether microbial life could exist in hidden or transient niches, or if remnants of older, more habitable phases remain. Studying Venus helps us understand the factors that make planets habitable and guides the search for life on other worlds.
