Astro-H
Astro-H, also known as Hitomi, was a Japanese space telescope launched in 2016 to study the universe's high-energy phenomena, such as black holes and neutron stars. Equipped with advanced instruments, it observed X-ray emissions from celestial objects, providing insights into their composition, behavior, and surrounding environments. Although it operated briefly before a malfunction ended its mission, Astro-H significantly contributed to our understanding of the universe’s extreme conditions, advancing astrophysics and the study of cosmic phenomena.
