Assyrian dialects

Assyrian dialects are varieties of the Aramaic language spoken primarily by the Assyrian people, an ethnic group originating from the ancient Assyrian Empire, mainly located in parts of modern-day Iraq, Syria, and Turkey. The main dialects include Sureth (or Syriac), spoken by many Assyrians today, and other regional variations influenced by geography and local languages. These dialects preserve much of the ancient Aramaic language and are used in everyday communication, literature, and religious practices. Despite their differences, they share a common heritage reflecting the rich cultural and historical legacy of the Assyrian people.
