The Association of Black Sociologists (ABS) is a professional organization founded in 1975 to promote the study of social issues affecting Black communities and to support scholars in this field. It provides a platform for researchers and educators to share their work, foster scholarly collaboration, and address social injustices. ABS also aims to enhance the visibility of Black sociologists in academia and beyond, advocating for equitable representation and scholarly pursuits that reflect the diverse experiences of Black individuals and communities.
