Assamese script
Assamese script is an abugida, primarily used for the Assamese language spoken in the Indian state of Assam. It evolved from the Brahmi script and is characterized by its rounded letters and distinctive horizontal line running across the top. The script consists of vowels and consonants, where each consonant has an inherent vowel sound that can be modified with diacritics. Assamese script is used for literature, education, and administration, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Assam. It is closely related to Bengali script, sharing many features while having unique adaptations that serve the phonetics of the Assamese language.
