Asian monsoon

The Asian monsoon is a seasonal weather pattern characterized by large-scale wind shifts that bring heavy rainfall and dry periods to parts of Asia, especially South and Southeast Asia. During summer, intense sunlight heats the land, creating low pressure and pulling moist air from the Indian Ocean, causing widespread rains vital for agriculture. In winter, cooler air and high pressure over the land repel moist air, resulting in dry conditions. This cyclical pattern, driven by temperature differences between land and ocean, influences climate, agriculture, and water resources across the region.
