Asian community in Uganda
The Asian community in Uganda primarily consists of individuals of Indian and Pakistani heritage, many of whom migrated during British colonial times. They have contributed significantly to Uganda's economy, especially in commerce, manufacturing, and services. Although their presence has faced challenges, such as political upheavals, many Asian-Ugandans remain integral to local business and society. They maintain cultural traditions while also integrating into Ugandan life, creating a diverse and dynamic community that has historically played a vital role in the country’s development.
