Ash conformity studies

The Ash conformity studies, conducted by Solomon Asch in the 1950s, explored how social pressure influences individual opinions. Participants were asked to match the length of lines, but the group around them, deliberately instructed to give wrong answers, often caused individuals to conform and also give incorrect responses. The studies demonstrated that people are sometimes willing to go against their own judgment to fit in with the group, highlighting the power of peer pressure and social influence on decision-making.
