Artsakh War
The Artsakh War refers to the conflict over the Nagorno-Karabakh region, a mostly ethnic Armenian area within Azerbaijan. Tensions escalated into full-scale fighting between Armenia and Azerbaijan, notably in the late 1980s, early 1990s, and again in 2020. The war stems from ethnic, territorial, and political disputes, with both sides claiming the territory. After intense fighting, a ceasefire was established, but disagreements remain unresolved. The conflict has caused significant displacement and hardship for residents and continues to impact regional stability and relations between the two nations.
