Artimus Pyle

Artimus Pyle is an American musician best known as the drummer for the legendary Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. Born on July 15, 1948, he joined the band in the early 1970s and contributed to their classic sound, characterized by powerful rhythms and harmony-laden guitars. Pyle was part of the band during their rise to fame, but his career was marked by tragedy when a plane crash in 1977 claimed the lives of several band members.
