Artemisium
Artemisium, also known as the Battle of Artemisium, occurred in 480 BCE during the Greco-Persian Wars. It was a naval battle fought off the coast of the island of Euboea, between the Greek city-states and the Persian navy. This battle coincided with the land-based Battle of Thermopylae. Although it ended in a tactical draw, the Greek fleet, led by Themistocles, demonstrated skill and bravery, ultimately delaying the Persian advance. The engagement was crucial for Greek naval strategy, showcasing the importance of teamwork and strategy in naval warfare against a much larger fleet.
