Army of the Three Guarantees
The Army of the Three Guarantees was a military force created during Mexico’s War of Independence in 1821, aligned with Iturbide’s Plan of Iguala. It aimed to unite various factions and ensure independence by promising three guarantees: Catholicism as the official religion, independence from Spain, and equality for creoles and peninsulares. The army’s role was to secure these objectives and support the transition to a new independent Mexico, symbolizing national unity and shared national goals.
