Army of the North
The Army of the North was a Trotskyist guerrilla organization active in Argentina during the late 1960s and early 1970s. It aimed to promote Marxist revolutionary change through armed struggle against the government. The group was influenced by Marxist-Leninist ideas and sought to mobilize workers and peasants to overthrow the existing political system. Their activities included sabotage, guerrilla attacks, and other insurgent tactics. Although ultimately unsuccessful, the Army of the North played a significant role in Argentina’s turbulent political landscape during that era, reflecting broader regional conflicts involving revolutionary movements in Latin America.
