Arctic Tern

The Arctic Tern is a small seabird known for its remarkable migration, traveling up to 71,000 kilometers (44,000 miles) annually between its breeding grounds in the Arctic and wintering areas in the Antarctic. This incredible journey makes it one of the longest migrations of any animal. Arctic Terns have a distinctive black cap, white body, and long, slender wings that allow for agile flight. They feed primarily on fish, using their keen eyesight to spot them from the air. Their life span can exceed 30 years, making them notable for both their endurance and navigational skills.
