Ararat (Mount Ararat)

Mount Ararat is a majestic, snow-capped peak located in eastern Turkey, near the border with Armenia and Iran. Rising about 5,137 meters (16,854 feet), it is the highest mountain in Turkey. Ararat is historically significant as it is traditionally associated with the biblical story of Noah's Ark, believed by many to have come to rest on its slopes after the Great Flood. The mountain is a symbol of Armenian national identity and has a striking landscape, making it a popular subject in art and photography. Its volcanic origin adds to its geological interest.
