Aragonese Crown
The Aragonese Crown was the medieval and early modern royal realm centered in the Crown of Aragon, a collection of territories in what is now northeastern Spain, including Aragon, Catalonia, Valencia, and the Balearic Islands. It was a confederation of semi-autonomous regions unified under a single monarch. The Crown of Aragon played a significant role in Mediterranean trade and politics and was formed through a series of dynastic marriages and alliances. It maintained distinct legal and political institutions, preserving regional identities while sharing a common monarch until the political unification with Castile in the late 15th century.
