Arab invasion of India
The Arab invasion of India began in the 7th century, primarily through military campaigns by the Umayyad Caliphate. Arab armies crossed into northwestern India, advancing into regions like Sindh (modern-day Pakistan). These invasions aimed to expand Islamic influence and establish political control. Over time, Arab traders and settlers also interacted with Indian society, contributing to cultural and economic exchanges. While military conquests were limited in scope, they laid the groundwork for future Islamic influence in India, leading to the establishment of Muslim rule in various parts of the subcontinent, notably in regions like Sindh and later the Delhi Sultanate.
