Appellant
An appellant is a person or party who appeals a decision made by a lower court or authority. This means they are dissatisfied with the outcome of a legal ruling and seek a higher court's review, hoping for a reversal or modification of that decision. The appeal process allows the appellant to present their case and argue why they believe the initial decision was incorrect. Essentially, the appellant is asking for a second chance to have their case evaluated, often based on legal errors, misinterpretation of the law, or new evidence that may affect the outcome.
