Apley’s Scratch Test
Apley's Scratch Test is a clinical assessment used to evaluate shoulder mobility and flexibility. The person tries to reach behind their head with one arm to touch the opposite shoulder and then reaches behind their back to touch the opposite shoulder blade. The healthcare provider observes how well the individual can perform these movements. Difficulties or limitations may indicate issues like reduced flexibility, rotator cuff problems, or shoulder injuries. This simple test helps in diagnosing shoulder disorders and planning appropriate treatment or therapy.
