Apartheid-era Laws
Apartheid-era laws were a series of legal frameworks established in South Africa from 1948 to the early 1990s that enforced racial segregation and discrimination. These laws classified the population by race, allocating rights and privileges based on skin color. Non-white citizens faced restrictions in areas such as education, housing, healthcare, and public services, while white citizens enjoyed greater freedoms and resources. The laws aimed to maintain white supremacy and control over the majority black population, leading to widespread oppression and social injustice until the system was dismantled, paving the way for a democratic South Africa.
