Antitrust Modernization Commission (AMC)

The Antitrust Modernization Commission (AMC) was established in the United States in 2002 to assess and recommend updates to antitrust laws and policies. Its purpose was to evaluate whether existing laws effectively promote competition and consumer welfare in a changing marketplace, especially with the rise of technology and globalization. The commission studied various aspects of antitrust enforcement and gathered insights from experts, ultimately issuing a report in 2007 with recommendations aimed at improving the effectiveness of antitrust policy to better serve consumers and foster fair competition in the economy.
