Antigoon is a legendary giant from folklore, particularly associated with the city of Antwerp in Belgium. According to the story, he demanded a toll from all who crossed a bridge, punishing those who refused by cutting off their hands and tossing them into the river. His reign of terror ended when a hero named Silvius Brabo confronted him, defeated him, and threw Antigoon’s own hand into the river. This tale symbolizes the triumph of good over evil and is linked to Antwerp’s name, as “hand” in Dutch is "hand," reflecting the city’s history and identity.
