Anti-positivism

Anti-positivism is a philosophical approach that argues that the social sciences differ fundamentally from the natural sciences. While positivism emphasizes observation and objective measurement to understand phenomena, anti-positivism asserts that human behavior and social interactions are complex and cannot be fully understood through quantitative data alone. Instead, it emphasizes the importance of subjective experiences, interpretations, and the meanings individuals attach to their actions. Essentially, anti-positivism recognizes that to understand society, one must consider context, culture, and personal perspectives, rather than relying solely on scientific methods.
