Annan Plan

The Annan Plan was a proposal to resolve the long-standing conflict between Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots in Cyprus. It aimed to create a unified, federal Cyprus with shared sovereignty, ensuring rights and security for both communities. The plan addressed issues like governance, property, and security arrangements, with the goal of ending division and enabling cooperation. While many supported its vision for peace and stability, it was ultimately rejected in referendums by both communities in 2004, leaving the island divided and the conflict unresolved.
