Andrew Carniegie
Andrew Carnegie was a Scottish-American industrialist and philanthropist, best known for leading the expansion of the American steel industry in the late 19th century. Born in 1835, he worked his way up from a poor immigrant family to become one of the richest men of his time. Carnegie founded Carnegie Steel Company, which dominated steel production and revolutionized manufacturing processes. He is also notable for his philanthropic efforts, donating much of his wealth to education, libraries, and the arts, famously stating that "the man who dies rich dies disgraced." Carnegie's legacy includes both his industrial achievements and his commitment to giving back.
