Analog Distortion

Analog distortion refers to the alteration of a signal when it is processed by analog devices, such as microphones, speakers, or amplifiers. Instead of reproducing sound or images accurately, these devices can introduce unexpected changes, making the output sound or look different from the original. This might result in a warmer sound and richer tones or, conversely, in a muddled or harsh output. Distortion can be intentional, like in music for creative effects, or unintentional, due to limitations in the equipment. Understanding distortion helps in appreciating both the artistry and the technical aspects of audio and visual media.
