An Lushan Rebellion
The An Lushan Rebellion was a major uprising against the Tang Dynasty in China, lasting from 755 to 763 AD. Led by General An Lushan, it was fueled by political corruption, military decline, and regional tensions. The rebellion caused widespread destruction, loss of life, and weakened central authority, marking a turning point that contributed to the dynasty's gradual decline. Despite ultimately being suppressed, it destabilized China for years and highlighted issues of governance and military strength in the empire.
