American Legacy Foundation

The American Legacy Foundation, now known as the Truth Initiative, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing youth smoking and tobacco use. It was established in 1999 as part of a settlement with tobacco companies and focuses on creating impactful anti-smoking campaigns, education, and research. Its goal is to inform young people about the health risks of tobacco, empower them to make healthier choices, and ultimately decrease smoking rates among youth across the United States.
