American Institute of Electrical Engineers

The American Institute of Electrical Engineers (AIEE) was a professional organization founded in 1884 to support electrical engineers and advance the field of electrical engineering. It provided a platform for networking, sharing research, and setting industry standards. In 1963, it merged with the Institute of Radio Engineers (IRE) to form the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), which is now one of the largest professional associations in the world, focusing on innovation and technical excellence in electrical and electronics engineering, as well as related disciplines.
