Alp Arslan

Alp Arslan was the second sultan of the Seljuk Empire, reigning from 1063 to 1072. He is best known for his military prowess and his pivotal role in expanding the empire. Under his leadership, the Seljuks achieved a significant victory against the Byzantine Empire at the Battle of Manzikert in 1071, which opened the way for Turkish settlement in Anatolia.
