Almoravid conquests

The Almoravid conquests were military campaigns by a North African Berber dynasty in the 11th century. Originating from the Sahara, the Almoravids united several tribes and sought to spread Islam. They expanded into what is now Morocco and Spain, capturing key cities like Marrakech and parts of the Iberian Peninsula. Their conquests aimed to promote Islamic beliefs and political unity. The Almoravids established a powerful empire that influenced trade and culture, significantly impacting the region's history through their military strength and the establishment of Islamic institutions. Their rule, however, faced challenges and eventually declined.
