Allogeneic Transplantation

Allogeneic transplantation is a medical procedure in which a patient receives healthy blood-forming cells (stem cells) from a genetically compatible donor, often a family member or unrelated donor. These stem cells replace the patient’s diseased or damaged bone marrow, helping to restore normal blood production. It’s commonly used to treat certain cancers like leukemia and other blood disorders. The procedure involves conditioning therapy to prepare the body, followed by infusion of the donor cells, which then migrate to the bone marrow to establish new, healthy blood cell growth.
