All India Trinamool Congress

The All India Trinamool Congress (AITC or TMC) is a regional political party in India, primarily active in the state of West Bengal. Founded in 1998 by Mamata Banerjee, it emerged as an alternative to the Indian National Congress and the Left parties, advocating for social justice and development. The party focuses on issues like farmers' rights, education, and healthcare. TMC gained prominence by winning the West Bengal assembly elections in 2011, ending a long period of Left rule.
