Alison Bechdel

Alison Bechdel is an American cartoonist best known for her graphic memoirs, particularly "Fun Home," which explores her childhood, family dynamics, and her relationship with her father, as well as her own coming out as a lesbian. She also created the long-running comic strip "Dykes to Watch Out For," which addresses LGBTQ+ issues and feminist themes. Bechdel's work is celebrated for its emotional depth and social commentary, and she is also known for the "Bechdel Test," a measure of gender representation in films and literature that assesses whether a work features at least two women who talk to each other about something other than men.
