Ali Abdullah Saleh
Ali Abdullah Saleh was a Yemeni politician who served as the President of Yemen from 1978 until 2011. He played a significant role in Yemen's unification in 1990, bringing together North and South Yemen. His presidency faced criticism for corruption, human rights abuses, and poor governance. During the Arab Spring in 2011, widespread protests against his rule emerged, leading to his resignation in exchange for immunity from prosecution. Saleh remained influential even after stepping down and was eventually killed in 2017 during the Yemeni Civil War, reflecting the ongoing turmoil in the country.
