Alhazen (Ibn al-Haytham)
Alhazen, or Ibn al-Haytham, was a revered Islamic scholar in the 10th century known as the "father of optics." He made groundbreaking contributions to geometrical optics, particularly through his work on how light behaves, how it travels, and how it interacts with surfaces. Alhazen is famous for his experiments on vision, showing that light comes from objects and enters the eye, rather than emanating from the eye itself. His systematic scientific methods and emphasis on experimentation laid the foundation for modern optical science and our understanding of vision and light.
