Alevi Community

The Alevi Community is a religious and cultural group primarily found in Turkey, with roots also in parts of the Middle East and the Balkans. They follow a unique form of Islam that emphasizes personal faith, spiritual connection, and social justice. Their practices include communal gatherings, music, and poetry, focusing on tolerance and respect for all. Alevis often distinguish themselves through their rites, such as the Cem ceremony, and generally advocate for equality, regardless of gender or social status. While sharing some beliefs with Sunni and Shia Muslims, Alevis maintain distinct traditions that reflect their own religious identity and worldview.
