Alenia Aeronautica was an Italian aerospace company that specialized in the design and manufacturing of aircraft and military aviation systems. Established in the early 20th century, it became known for developing both commercial and military planes, contributing to projects like the C-27J Spartan and parts of the Eurofighter Typhoon. In 2009, it merged into Finmeccanica, now known as Leonardo, further integrating its operations in the aerospace and defense sectors. Alenia Aeronautica played a significant role in advancing aviation technology and supporting Italy's and Europe’s aerospace goals.
