Albinism
Albinism is a genetic condition where a person is born with little or no melanin, the pigment responsible for color in skin, hair, and eyes. This occurs due to mutations affecting the production or distribution of melanin. As a result, individuals with albinism typically have very light skin and hair, and their eyes may appear lighter or have distinctive features like reduced pigmentation. Albinism does not affect intelligence or overall health, but it can increase sensitivity to sunlight and vision problems. It is inherited and present from birth, requiring medical and sometimes optical management.
