Albert Betz

Albert Betz was a German physicist known for discovering the maximum theoretical efficiency of wind turbines, known as Betz's Law. This law states that no wind turbine can convert more than about 59.3% of the wind's kinetic energy into electricity, because extracting energy slows down the wind and limits how much power can be captured. Betz's work helped engineers design more effective wind turbines by understanding and respecting this physical limit, thereby advancing renewable energy technology.
