Aktion Reinhard
Aktion Reinhard was the Nazi plan during World War II to systematically murder Europe's Jews, primarily in Poland. It involved the mass deportation of Jews to specially built extermination camps like Treblinka, where most were killed immediately in gas chambers. This operation was a key part of the Holocaust, aiming to annihilate the Jewish population. The name "Reinhard" came from SS leader Reinhard Heydrich. It resulted in the murder of approximately 1.8 million people, mostly Jews, and represented the Nazis’ most deadly effort to carry out their genocidal policies.
