Airborne Transmission

Airborne transmission occurs when infectious agents, such as viruses or bacteria, are spread through tiny particles called aerosols that remain suspended in the air for extended periods. These particles can be released when an infected person coughs, sneezes, talks, or breathes, and can travel distances beyond close contact. Others can then inhale these contaminated aerosols, potentially becoming infected even if they are not close to the source. This mode of transmission highlights the importance of proper ventilation, wearing masks, and good hygiene to reduce the spread of airborne diseases.
