AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome)

AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome) is the most advanced stage of HIV infection, where the virus has severely damaged the immune system. HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) attacks vital cells that help fight infections, making it hard for the body to defend itself against other illnesses. Without treatment, HIV can progress to AIDS, increasing the risk of serious, often life-threatening infections and cancers. While there’s no cure for HIV, antiretroviral therapy can control the virus, allowing individuals to live longer, healthier lives and preventing progression to AIDS.
