Age-related osteoporosis

Age-related osteoporosis is a condition where bones become weaker and more fragile over time, increasing the risk of fractures. As we age, especially after menopause in women, our bodies lose the ability to maintain optimal bone density due to decreased production of bone-building cells and hormonal changes. This natural process results in thinner, less dense bones that are more prone to breaks from minor falls or stresses. Factors like poor nutrition, lack of exercise, smoking, and certain medications can accelerate bone loss. Managing osteoporosis involves lifestyle changes, adequate calcium and vitamin D intake, and sometimes medications to help strengthen bones.
